Following Bob’s appointment as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2011, Parkland’s enterprise value has grown from $750 million to over $10 billion. Over 60 strategic acquisitions have positioned Parkland as a leading international consolidator of convenience and fuel marketing businesses with operations in 25 countries.

With a network of over 4,000 retail, commercial and food locations, Parkland has developed powerful supply, distribution, and trading capabilities to accelerate growth and business performance. Parkland’s portfolio of consumer and commercial brands, including JOURNIE™ Rewards, ON the RUN, Ridgeline, Pioneer, Sol, Ultramar, and M&M Food Market, coupled with its culture of customer service has created a solid platform for organic growth. Parkland is rapidly developing expertise to seize opportunities through the energy transition with carbon and renewables trading, solar power, renewables manufacturing and ultrafast Electric Vehicle charging.

Prior to Parkland, Bob worked internationally and domestically as a consultant and in senior leadership roles in start-up and mature businesses across the technology, manufacturing, marketing, and consumer goods sectors. Bob graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from the Royal Military College of Canada and served as a Commissioned Officer in the Canadian Navy. After leaving the Navy, Bob continued his education with a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario. Bob is a senior advisor to EnZinc, an advanced developer of metal air battery technology, a board member of Boyd Services Group (TSX:BYD) and past Chair of the Canadian Fuels Association.


Marcel TeunissenMarcel Teunissen

Chief Financial Officer

Marcel joined Parkland on December 1, 2020 as Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Mr. Teunissen is responsible for all aspects of the financial management of Parkland, including the overall financial strategy and capital structure of the company.

Prior to joining Parkland, Mr. Teunissen served as Executive Vice President, Finance, Integrated Gas and New Energies for Royal Dutch Shell, responsible for the financial management of Shell’s global portfolio of LNG assets and its emerging new energy business.

Mr. Teunissen brings an extensive background in corporate finance, treasury, financial planning and analysis, tax, strategic planning and commodity & financial risk management to Parkland.

Mr. Teunissen holds a Masters of Business Economics from the Erasmus University Rotterdam.

President, Parkland Canada

Mr. White was appointed President, Parkland Canada in January 2023 where he oversees Parkland’s Canadian retail and commercial businesses. Previously, he was Senior Vice President, Strategic Marketing and Innovation since 2018, a portfolio which he still retains. In this role, he was responsible for defining Parkland’s customer value proposition and competitive positioning across all International Business Units, including brand strategy, product management, loyalty, analytics, digital, and media planning.

Mr. White joined Parkland as Director of Pioneer to lead the integration and operation of the business in 2014. Prior to joining Parkland, Mr. White was the head of Dollar Financial Group’s Canadian subsidiary National Money Mart Company from 2011 to 2014. Mr. White also spent 18 years at Canadian Tire Corporation, including roles as Vice President of PartSource and Divisional Vice President of Operations and Business Development in the Petroleum division.

Mr. White was recognized as the Retail Leader of the Year at the National Convenience Industry Summit and is a founding Board member of the Convenience Industry Council of Canada.

President, Parkland USA

Ms. Sanker was appointed President, Parkland USA in January 2023, she was previously appointed President, Parkland Canada in November 2019 and oversaw Parkland’s Canadian retail and commercial businesses.

Prior to joining Parkland, Ms. Sanker worked for BP in a variety of leadership roles. Most recently, Ms. Sanker served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) where she had accountability for BP’s west coast USA retail business. Prior to Ms. Sanker’s COO role, she held a range of leadership positions at BP including Chief Marketing Officer, Vice-President of Retail and Vice-President of Marketing which encompassed operations, sales, marketing, brand and advertising groups.  

Ms. Sanker holds a Master of Science from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Pennsylvania.

President, Parkland International

Mr. Magnan was appointed President, Parkland International in 2018 and oversees the Sol businesses based in Grand Cayman.

Previously, Mr. Magnan served in a number of senior management roles at Parkland, including Interim Vice President, Supply, Trading & Refining and Vice President, Corporate Development from 2017 to 2018. He joined the company as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary in 2015. Prior to joining Parkland, Mr. Magnan was a Principal at Pierre P.G. Magnan Professional Corporation, which was preceded by work in law firms in as a Calgary-based Partner at Gowling WLG LLP and Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP and an Associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York.

Mr. Magnan is the Chairman of Validere Technologies Ltd, and Director of the General Partner of EDO Revenue Royalties LP.

In 2017, Mr. Magnan was awarded the Senate of Canada 150th Anniversary Medal for Community Service, and in 2012 he was a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for Community Service.

Mr. Magnan has a Masters of Law from the University of Cambridge, and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Ottawa.

Senior Vice President, Supply, Trading and Refining

Mr. Krogmeier was appointed Senior Vice President, Supply, Trading and Refining in 2018, overseeing Parkland’s supply, trading and refining strategy and capabilities.

Prior to joining Parkland, Mr. Krogmeier served in various supply and trading roles across the sector, including Vice President, Crude Oil and Supply and Trading for Chevron. Prior to that, Mr. Krogmeier oversaw global products supply and trading at Chevron, one of the largest businesses in the downstream portfolio. He brings world class commercial downstream experience across many aspects of the downstream value chain, including product supply and trading, marketing, crude oil supply, and joint venture management.

Mr. Krogmeier holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business.

Senior Vice President, Energy Transition and Corporate Development

Mr. Smart leads Parkland’s Corporate Development and Energy Transition activities. In this role, Mr. Smart leads Parkland’s extensive acquisition activity which underpins the company’s expansion and growth.  Mr. Smart also ensures we leverage our existing business to capture new, accretive opportunities to decarbonize the markets we serve and leads Parkland’s electric vehicle charging strategy.

Mr. Smart joined Parkland as Director, Corporate Development in 2014 and has served in a variety of senior leadership positions including, interim Chief Financial Officer and Vice President Corporate Development. Prior to joining Parkland, Mr. Smart was a Portfolio Manager at Teachers’ Private Capital, the private equity arm of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, where he sourced, evaluated, and managed energy related investments.

Mr. Smart has served as a director of several private companies, has a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School, and graduated with distinction from a Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelor of Business Administration.


Ferio PuglieseFerio Pugliese

Senior Vice President, People & Culture, Health, Safety & Environment

Ferio Pugliese joined Parkland as Senior Vice President, People and Culture on December 21, 2020.  In this role, Mr. Pugliese is responsible for enterprise-wide planning, alignment, and execution of Parkland’s People and Culture strategy to support and develop the company’s culture and enable Parkland Strategic Vision.

Mr. Pugliese joins Parkland from Air Canada where he served as Senior Vice President of AirCanada Express and Government Relations, overseeing all aspects of the company’s regional airline brand, business operation and government relations. 

Prior to Air Canada, Mr. Pugliese was Executive Vice President Customer Care and Corporate Affairs at Hydro One overseeing all aspects of the company’s Customer, Marketing and Corporate Affairs. He spent over nine years at WestJet as Executive Vice President People and Culture before becoming President of WestJet Encore, WestJet’s regional airline.

Mr. Pugliese completed the Ivey Executive Development Program through Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario.  He also holds a Master of Arts MA, from Central Michigan University, and Bachelor of Arts BA in Organizational Communications and Bachelor of Commerce BComm from the University of Windsor. In 2007 he was recognized by Caldwell Partners as one of Canada’s Top 40 under 40.

Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Ms. Elliott was appointed Chief Sustainability Officer in 2020, and appointed Vice President, Senior General Counsel and Corporate Secretary in 2018. In this role, Ms. Elliott oversees all legal, regulatory, compliance matters for Parkland, as well as government and external affairs and corporate social responsibility matters across the enterprise.  She first joined Parkland as Legal Counsel in 2016.

Prior to joining Parkland, Ms. Elliott was an Associate at JSS Barristers, and has also worked at the Court of Appeal of Alberta.

Ms. Elliott was a finalist for the Women in Law Leadership Awards, 2018 “Tomorrow’s Leader,” and has appeared at all levels of court in Alberta, and at the Supreme Court of Canada. Ms. Elliott was also an instructor at the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Law, teaching legal research and writing, and was a coach and judge of the faculty’s mooting program. Ms. Elliott has also presented on civil litigation for the Legal Education Society of Alberta.

Ms. Elliott is a Member of the Law Society of Alberta, and has a GCP.D designation. Ms. Elliott has a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) degree, both from the University of Calgary.
